I've been working for years to develop a D&D-adjacent game that I can play with all of my kids. There's going to be a point where they can all read, do math, and play any game with me, but right now they are 7, 4, and 2, and even if there's a game that I can play with the youngest, it rarely scales to be fun for the older two. That's why I love Fairies of the Mistglade, with its three tier system that allows any child to play. I've added a Tier 0 for my 2yo daughter---that's the coloring-only tier. Most games boast that you can play an adventure in one sitting, but they grossly overestimate a young child's attention span. Not Fairies of the Mistglade. We would have easily finished in one sitting if I hadn’t under-prepared for the first session (because I never imagined a game could hold their attention so well!) Following the first session, my 4yo kept telling me he was worried about Marigold's garden, so I knew I had to prep the rest. When we finished, they wanted more. Luckily, there are other released modules we can move onto next. I couldn't give a higher recommendation. My kids will be trying a higher tier next time. Wish us luck!
